The afternoon before Thanksgiving, we got a phone call from friends who would be passing through on their way to spending Thanksgiving in Tremonton. They wanted to go out to dinner. We had to hurry to finish making pies. Kent had previously recommended 'The Borderline Grill' in Franklin, Idaho at LaTienda (home of the Utah lottery) for their Wednesday night special. We met Brent and Diane there and had a really good dinner of New York Steak cooked to perfection (medium rare), with two scrumptious jumbo shrimp, choice of soup or salad, choice of potato, and Texas toast...all for $9.99! Yummy. We had a great time eating and visiting and NO, we didn't buy any lottery tickets.
Thanksgiving Day
After we ate and some were napping, some of us tried to walk off the meal and get some of the kids' energy under control. We went to the River Walk. Although slightly cool, it was really quite pleasant. The two mile walk took about two hours. We let the kids run everywhere and explore and while we were at it, Robin played photographer for a VanWagenen family photo shoot.

The next day...
Brandon got up early and went shopping for the big 'Black Friday' specials. I think he spent about 5 hours and who knows how much money!? We left to run a few errands and struck out most everywhere we went. When we came home the Schvaneveldts had left for American Falls.
The Burkhardts stayed two nights. Before they left on Friday afternoon, Ashlyn, age 4 1/2, favored us with a piano performance. Robin and Andrew made an 'announcement card' for me that had a picture of an oven on it. The wording said, "Save room for more turkey because we have one in the oven." Baby Burkhardt will be born in May. We are happy for them. This will be Robin and Andrew's 3rd kid and our 18th grandchild.
Most of the pies have been eaten, the fridge still has some leftovers, everyone has gone home, and all is calm and quiet at the Conlin household. What a difference a day makes!
Update: Saturday afternoon we received a call from Marcia Sperry. She had spent Thanksgiving in Idaho Falls with the Adams family. She said she was headed this way and would take me out to eat for an early birthday gift. We met her at the Coppermill and had a delicious dinner and a good visit. (It seems all we do is eat, eat, eat!) Marcia went to bed here until about 3:30 a.m. Sunday when she headed to the Salt Lake airport for an early flight back to Texas. She thought she could probably make it in time to attend her Sacrament Meeting.
