HAWAII...On deck, towel animals

The Zaandam had an outdoor 'walk around' deck. Besides using the deck for taking pictures, lounging, reading books, watching people, whales and dolphins, many people walked around and around to get some fresh air and exercise. One day Skip made 40 laps. Following high winds or storms, everything was coated with layers of salt.







Each night we returned to our stateroom from dinner or the show to find that the cabin stewards had created an animal from towels. Sometimes we had a hard time figuring out what animal it was supposed to be. Usually they were placed on our bed along with the next day's itinerary and a couple pieces of chocolate. The ship had a class on how to make the towel animals.
