We have had three days of nice warm temperatures!

On Saturday we mowed and edged the lawn. Someone dropped by to see our house. She came back a second time with her husband. In the evening we were invited to a cook-out at Julie and Glen's home. The food was excellent! Reed's home teaching partner, Don, was also there. Since the two of them visit Julie and Glen, I think they all decided to count the barbeque as a visit.

Candace, Jory and family went to Bear Lake on Friday to stay with Kristen and Ozzie and kids at their nice place in Garden City. Candace had said they had to leave about 10 a.m. on Sunday so Kristen could make it to church. She said they would stop and see us about 11. We decided to fix a nice roast beef dinner and all the trimmings. We kept waiting and waiting and they didn't come. We called and left messages on both cell phones and they didn't return our calls. (both phones had dead batteries and they had forgotten the charger) The table was set and everything was ready. We didn't know what to do. We figured their plans must have changed. About 12:20 we called Jill and told her we didn't want the food going to waste so she could bring her family to Sunday dinner. As we were finishing up the VanWagenens arrived. So we ended up with 14 instead of 8. There was still some roast, a few rolls and gravy left but we had to hurry and cook more potatoes and corn and re-supply the relish tray. We had plenty of zuchinni bread and chocolate/marshmallow brownies. After eating we watched the videos Jory shot while on vacation in the St. George area/Zions/Snow Canyon etc. Don't try to shoplift at JC Penneys at the SouthTowne Mall because Jory will catch you! He has been working part-time in the security department. He would like a different job, and one that is full-time. We all decided that he should get a job for Delta so we could get a better deal on airline tickets. Jory will be celebrating his birthday next Saturday, the 22nd. Kaden and Brandon left for a while for Kaden's baptismal interview. He passed!

On Monday while Reed was applying fertilizer and pre-emergent to the lawn, I planted the begonias which Reed had started in the house. The plants were nice and healthy looking. Each year they have gorgeous blooms. HJ would be proud! Later in the evening we planted petunias around the flowering pear trees in the parking strip. Now it better rain as has been forecast.

After school I took Kaden for an ATV ride up Providence Canyon to the rock quarry and waterfall. It is legal to ride 4-wheelers on city streets in Providence and Millville. Jill said her visiting teachers come in a rhino.

Natalie turns 11 tomorrow but her birthday was celebrated tonight due to scheduling conflicts. The Schvaneveldts invited us to go to Texas Roadhouse with them to eat. Here are a couple of pictures of Natalie taken at the restaurant:

Following dinner we took Natalie to Sam's Club for her to pick out a birthday cake. She didn't want buttercream frosting so that was a limiting factor. The cake was frosted with white non-dairy whipped topping and had pink, lavendar and yellow (pastel) decorations. So why did the lady at the bakery use dark green icing to write 'Happy Birthday Natalie!' on it? The lady warned us that her hand shakes so the writing might not be really neat. I felt like asking for a discount when I saw the finished product. Oh well, it will taste the same.
