Summer Vacation 2011

We drove to Boise on July 14th. We met Craig and Troy at a restaurant that evening. It was good to see them; they both looked great. I was telling Troy it had been a long time since I'd seen him. He thought it was at Grandpa Conlin's funeral in September 1998.

The following day (15th) we drove to Seattle. We stayed at the same motel as Robin, Andrew, Ashlyn, Katelyn and Aubrey. We spent a little time with them and watched the girls swim a bit. We were able to leave our car at the motel for the duration of our trip for $20. That is a bargain compared to paying that much or more each day at the cruise port. That made it so Robin had to take us to the terminal. Road closures made for a long and nerve-wracking drive as Robin had to be back to the motel in time to get Ashlyn ready for her dance competition and check out. We were disappointed that we were unable to see Ashlyn compete. She was in four dances and placed 1st in one, 3rd in two of them and 4th in another. Way to go!

We boarded Holland America's 'Westerdam' early, checked out our accommodations, went to lunch and upon getting back to the room, we found our luggage had already been delivered! I loved our room. It was more spacious than what we're used to with the inside staterooms, and we had our own private balcony!
